question about "past life" readings

so I do a lot of readings on myself. I've been into tarot for almost a year now. I really like trying new spreads. I keep a notebook just full of different layout designs and stuff. I like how the layout can portray your specific reading approach.. ANYWAY. so I tried this past life spread a few weeks ago. And of course, it totally enticed me. Then I just happen to flip "Death" and the reversed "Devil" as the two cards that separately represented two individual lives I had experience before the one I've found myself in in the present.

Now. Think about it. How freaked out would you be in you drew these cards? I myself didn't really fully believe in past lives, but I do somewhat believe in reincarnation of course. I just never considered that I may have had a life prior to the one I'm in. And in fact, that made a lot of sense in explaining why I think of myself to carry a sort of older wisdom than a lot of people.

And like anyone who would draw those two cards, it struck me as totally ^%&*%^&% freaky. The read then intertwined the two lives and demonstrated how they play together into what I am in the present. What do I flip? The Ten of Swords!!

So I called a psychic. She said to never do it to myself and if I ever wanted one, get somebody with a PHD. She said to make sure to call upon the white light of Jesus Christ to protect me from now in the beginning of all readings.

If anyone can explain the reason she might have had for those comments, I'd love to hear it. Though I was freaked out by the cards I'd drawn, they made a weird sense to me. I'm a sacrificial person. Very spiritual. And I've never been the type to look upon a figure for my strength, because I always found it myself. Though I believe in a universal spirit, I've always had an inner confidence.

I dunno. Now I'm rambling. I'd really like to understand my experience a little more without being shooed.

Alright, a few months ago I came across this website. At first, it comes off as a bit unprofessional. But I looked into it, and its really neat! It combines the good words from every religion and strings them together into one way of life. I really have learned to love it. It has words from ANY insp...

I appreciate the scientific approach though. It's nice to actually have some substantial evidence other than something based off a bunch of sacred text mumbo-jumbo. On the other hand, what is your opinion about what it means regarding humanity? You say the Mayan Calendar doesn't end in 2012, so do y...

So if that's the case, then why was it marked on the Mayan Calendar? What does it mean in reference to mankind? Does it still support the theory of some kind of transformation of humankind into a higher intelligence? Or the coming of some sort of prophet?
