Though Jupiter finds its home in both Sagittarius and Pisces, these two signs are radically different.  The different signs correspond have a strong relation to the houses.  House 1 has Aries/Mars characteristics.  House 7 has Libra/Venus characteristics.  The funny thing about o...

This ayanamsha debate is also running at http://mysticboard.org/viewtopic.php?p=227275#227275 too, although that topic was for Vimshottari. america.1  should be more clear about why he regards something "most interesting" esp with regards to the theory of ayanamsha. Does america.1 know what is the ...

Most interesting ayanamsa I have ran into so far is Deva-datta.  It's not used much, because it isn't well known.  The theory behind it sounds interesting though.  Even if it isn't correct,  the idea behind it is going to be an important factor in figuring out the true ayanamsa.

For some reason, Rahu and Ketu are always seen in the negative light.  I don't really understand it.  From what I've read about Rahu and Ketu, they are directly connected with Surya and Chandra's energies.  Rahu from what I've read is a signifier for obsession. Ketu is a signifier for...

Kuja Shani mutual aspect

Just a question.  I know that looking at the whole chart is important.  Though I'm just curious, in a Mithuna Lagna, would Shani in Vrischika and Kuja in Vrishabha generally be regarded as auspicious or inauspicious?

Basically though that's taking Mars at "traditionally" defined value.  Relatively, you could say that Mars is supposed to be refined and not as aggressive and you really wouldn't be wrong. Really planetary values and traditional meanings of planets is probably dependent on social and cultural v...

Take Mars for example, which is supposed to be the planet of "Male" energy and of action.  When it is "exalted", technically its probably at its weakest.  The energy becomes more refined and more focused, rather than all over the place.  "True" exaltation of mars would probably come from Cancer, w...

Using that logic, one would have to realize that when some planets work best, they work the worst and vice versa.  Take Mars for example, which is supposed to be the planet of "Male" energy and of action.  When it is "exalted", technically its probably at its weakest.  The energy beco...

Ok, I know that most people here won't consider me authority on this, but I've done some thinking on it  :smt020 The concept of Neecha-bhanga to me, is when a debilitated planet submits to its opposing planet and actually works with it instead of resisting.  When two strong planets aspect ...

Logically speaking, to me, it would seem like it would strengthen the planets; though I've never read anything on it or anything. Though something doesn't sound right with that though.  You have Uccha-bhanga when you have two exalted planets aspecting each other.  I'm not sure, but I don't...

Rahu with Swakshetra Kendra Lord?

Is there any special significance for having Rahu with a swakshetra planet? I've read that Rahu is supposed to take on the qualities of the house lord and its house.

Retrograde Saturn in Scorpio?

Well I've read several things about retrograde planets, and different opinions.  Ive read that debilitated planets act exalted by some; and I've heard that the planet acts as if it was in the sign before the sign that it is in.  So what exactly is supposed to happen with Saturn retrograde ...

Ayanamsa difficulties

Ok, I know its not worth it to ask what is the correct ayanamsa, because everyone is going to have their opinion on the matter.  I understand that Lahiri is the official ayanamsa of India, though I don't really think that proves much. The reason I bring this up is because the ayanamsa changes some t...
