I heard that its the stone / crystals that chooses the owner not the other way around, they say that you have to feel the
crystal, if it became warm to the touch then its yours, if it remains cold to the touch then it does not want to be yours...can anyone clarify me on these things...

May I suggest that you remove and cleanse the diamond before wearing it again....
