This is used practically to tell someone who is having delay in getting married, to go and look for the spouse at the places indicated in the chart
Which of the following would be a correct approach?

1. Search in the direction indicated by the sign where the Bhava lord is placed(e.g, Mesh - East, Tula - West...)
2. Search in direction represented by Bhava where the Bhava lord is placed (Lagna - East, 7th- West...)

The directions of the Raashi will be more apt we feel.
3. Search in type of places indicated by the sign where Bhava lord is placed (eg., Dhanur- War fields, armament related...)
Yes. That is also something that gives us a clue

Dear vivek ji and rahul ji

Please clarify my following doubts:

1.Do the karakas have its significations distributed in all 12 houses? for eg: family (karaka:moon) in 2nd house;mother(karaka:moon) in 4th house etc
2.In above eg: if the signification of moon is there in different houses then why it is considered karaka of 4th house alone?
3.i  have summed up something about karakas as under. Please comment:

Karakas are those which develop a "feeling" in us w.r.t their significations through making us interact with other jeevatmas(people etc) / jadatmas (matter). and these feelings reach us through the respective houses.

A Graha becomes the kaaraka of a Bhaava if one of its significations match the significations of a particular Bhaava. For example, Surya rules Father and so does the Ninth bhaava and hence Surya is said to be a significator of the Ninth Bhaava, Same way it is also the significator of the first Bhaava because it signifies the Ego. It is the same for other Grahas too.
2.In above eg: if the signification of moon is there in different houses then why it is considered karaka of 4th house alone?
The Fourth Bhaava has other Kaarakas too. But when we talk about the Primary kaaraka for the fourth Bhaava then it mis Chandra. This is as per the list given by Maharishi Paraashara.

How can tjhis be used Astrologically?

Dear vivek ji and rahul ji,

1..What I meant is that karaka make us interact by bringing the specific thing through the respective bhava from it and then develops emotion through the respective bhava from lagna. For e.g. spouse is brought through 7th house from shukra and the emotion (by interacting with spouse) is brought to us through 7th house from lagna.Placement of this bhava from shukra is considered for assessing the emotion.

2.why is karaka of a house is classified as primary, secondary etc? What is the criteria for giving this different level of importance?

The Bhaava from Lagna is more about the attitude of the native w.r.t the particular aspect of life signified by the bhaava. For example the 7th Bhaava shows the attitude of the native and her/his approach towards marriage. This is very important.
The same bhaava from the Kaaraka is seen to find out if the two (the attitude and the signification) are congruent or not.
Remember that the Karaka is like the overlord of the Bhaava. See, just like the Raashis have their lord same way the Bhavaas have the Kaarakas.

This is for specific use. We will try to give one such use in a later post.
