LESSON 11.1 Essential Dignities

Post by Youdah » Wed Nov 12, 2008 12:46 pm

Suppose you are doing an interpretation of a chart and different aspects and placements contradict each other.  For example: one placement would give the interpretation that the native is out-going and an extrovert.  Yet, another aspect and placement would give the interpretation that the native is shy, private, and an introvert.  How do you figure out which is the accurate reading?

Another example:  Suppose someone asks you if they should buy that new car?  So you do a horary chart.  There seems to be equal indicators that the person is getting a good deal, and that they shouldn't buy the car?  So, what do you tell the client?

Of course, you will modify your interpretation knowing that either extreme isn't going to be accurate.  Yet, how do you get the whole truth, the entire picture?

One way is to use the Essential Dignities.  By looking at where the planets are located, which Houses, you can determine the relative strength and importance of that aspect/placement by the dignity.

Wikipedia has a good explanation of Essential Dignities:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essential_dignity

The table at the bottom of the page should be learned, or copied so that you can refer to it when doing interpretations.

This is poor explanation, cos you using Horoary rules, guildlines in Natal chart analasys without explaining how horary works. Plus it doesnt have a place in learning basic natal chart interpretations, does it??

Why do you keep quoting bloody wikipedia.org dont you have any of your own material?
