Fate & Luck

Post by Xuan Qi » Thu Aug 14, 2008 12:46 am

Generally, Chinese believe that FATE is real. Everyone of us is born
with different gifts and limitations. And by knowing and understanding our limitations, we will be able to embark on the path that will lead to success instead of obstacles.

One's Fate is determined at birth -  impossible to be changed, or difficult to be modified. This is what one started out with. A person's birth chart is a manual for a new cellphone which gives you the specifications of the phone, the model, operating instructions etc. These default specifications are designed by the manufacturer. Our birthdate and time, our parents, our siblings etc. are examples of such defaults.

What can be changed - are our other aspects in life which are affected by Luck. What we have control over, and achievable with our efforts.

The western definition of 'luck' is not different from 'chance'.

The Chinese's concept of luck is similar to the orbit of planets - cyclical and predictable. An orbit is not a random movement and passes through space and time in a specific pattern. That makes it knowable.

And if we know the status of our luck, we can base our actions on how strong or weak it is at that time. Besides understanding our own strong points and weaknesses, we also need to realize our potential and limitations underneath our facades. Only then will we be able to move in the right direction effectively....:-)

Thanks , food for thought, but I don't agree with fate being determined at one's birth. I think the chart does not mean fate.

Bazi & Destiny Analysis

Post by astroace » Tue Oct 14, 2008 1:11 pm

Hi Xuan Qi

The chinese belief is that our body comprises of five different types of energies. They are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal & Water and together with their polarities of Yin (-) and Yang (+), they make up the 10 elements in us.

When we are born, our body energies will be made up of the combination of energies from that year, that month, that day and that particular hour. This combination in the 4 pillars constitute the 8 characters or Phat Chi (Bazi). Our self energy that describe our characteristics are derived from the Heaven Stem element of the Day Pillar also called the Day Master. The strength of all the elements in the 4 pillars are based on the season of birth, e.g when a person is born in March, all his Wood elements will be the strongest, followed by his Fire, Water, Metal and Earth elements. Together with all the combinations, he will be made up of a different ingredient of elemental energies as compared to the next person including his twin sibling.

The study of Bazi will tell us his destiny. Based on his main Bazi charts, it will tell us his character and his reaction to his surrounding, his behaviour towards people and to different situations.
Based on his 8 X 10 years Luck Cycle charts will tell us his situation as he goes thru in life, The respective Yearly Luck chart and the current 12 Months Luck chart will tell us what he will be going thru this current set of time.

Each current Year, Month and Day will also have its own set of elemental energies which will attack, exhaust or combine his set of energies, thus causing him to react differently according to time.
With all this information, which is similar to his road map, we can advice him on how to overcome the difficult time he may encounter and to make full use of his potential during his good times.

Destiny (Heaven Luck) as some will say can never be changed may not necessarily be true. What we can do is to use our Actions (Mankind Luck) and also to live in a harmonious environment / Feng Shui (Earth Luck) to overcome or to tilt the percentage of our well being.
The most important remedy for all of us is to create good Karma.
We are born for a purpose. Make full use of it.

I would like to recommend to all of you kind people to read the following books which are freely distributed. They are
1) Liao Fan Four Lessons (about change of a person's destiny by doing good deeds / Karma)
2) Journey to the Underworld (about Life and Punishments after death in Hades)
These 2 books have nothing to do with religion and have been translated to English.

Thank you for your time and with best regards,
astroace
