Favorite Tarot Deck

Post by Tonjha » Sat Oct 14, 2006 8:04 pm

I was just wondering what is your favorite Tarot Deck?  I started out with the Raider Waite deck, then moved on to the Aquarian Tarot deck because I liked the images and kinder readings. I also have recently purchased the Master's Tarot deck which I enjoy but do not use as I would use a traditional deck.

So, which deck is your favorite and why?

I usually use my Radiant Rider deck or my Golden Dawn Ritual deck. So I guess they are my favorites. I also use the Morgan Greer alot.   I am presently trying to get a handle on the Thoth deck but that is slow going.

I use different packs depending on who I'm reading for. I tend to use the Hanson Roberts pack for people who have never had their cards read before because I think it's very 'friendly' and the imagery isn't threatening in any way. I use the Tarot of the Old Path for most other readings.
On Hallow'een I break out the Hallow'een Tarot!

Wow, I didn't realize there was a Halloween Tarot deck! How interesting.

I use to use the Instant Tarot reader book and card set by Monte Farber and Amy Zerner. It's a great beginning set.

I just bought that book.  Have flipped through it a little, but haven't done a reading using it.  Do you like it?

I loved it when just starting out. It was so easy to use and pretty informative. I just got it back out of the box it had been stored in the past 5 years and discovered three of the cards are missing. Imagine my disappointment. I am thinking of buying another set. I really did like it. I am just getting back into Tarot after taking a 5 year break to raise my third child. I sure have missed doing the readings.

:smt006 Im primarily a user of The I Ching. I use The Robin Wood deck
in conjucntion with the I Ching occassionly for a more precise reading.
I also use the quick and easy with the I Ching and some times for questions I have! Not only are they a great beginers deck they work
very well with the I ching they like it are very precise. If you correllate
the two togeather youi can not corrupt your reading with wanting to be nice etc.

Ozzman - I have considered purchasing the Quick and Easy Deck because it is quite time consuming to flip back and forth through my book since I can't remember all the meanings yet.  Do you find that it is more time efficient?  Are the definitions thorough or just keywords?

I started using the druid craft tarot cards and book. I seem to be in tune with them as they are very nature orientated. I used to use the grand etteilla deck, which I found very negative and therefore never really liked.

my deck is tarot of the cat ppl. why? so many reasons. although it's not the easiest deck to read with. i am very drawn to it. i have decks that are easier to interrupt, but i always end up using the cat ppl deck. or sometimes i use an animal meditation deck, but that's not really tarot. you just practice the traits of the animal that picks you. it also gives you a message or lesson u need to learn.

I currently use the Mythic Tarot Deck.  The each suit is based on a greek myth and each card of that suit is a stage in the story.  It makes it a little easier to remember the card meanings.

I love the classic Rider Waite ... I have started on that one and I have such a good connection with it already. The pictures are really easy to understand.
