Oracle cards and Tarot cards
Is there a major difference between oracle cards and Tarot cards apart from the obvious ones?. Ie are the meanings the same.?
Not necessarily.
As with Tarot, their meanings are pretty much left to the reader to interpret. However, if you read the booklet that comes with the oracle cards, you'll see that the cards meanings are usually associated with the themes of the deck. Ie. if you have an Animal Oracle deck the meanings are associated with the spirit meanings of the different animals. Angel Oracle Decks meanings are associated with what the different angels specialties are.

Personally i don't think there is any likeness in oracles as opposed to tarot. Tarot are widely recognised as having the same meanings per card independent of the deck used. Oracle cards are very different, they have a singular meaning that was chosen by the designer, most have written messages, affirmations or meanings on them so there's no doubt as to what they mean.
Most oracles are made up of less cards than tarot, have no minor or major arcana, and are used in different ways. They are very easy to use for personal readings though, theres no 'reading' or biase in the cards, the words printed on them or the animal, crystal or picture tell the meaning, unlike tarot which can have various meanings.
I love both, and have many packs of each![:)](./images/smilies/001.gif)
