I currently use the Morgan Greer deck. However there's something about the glided tarot that for some reason has been calling me to get it. So I will try it soon.

Just one favorite?

Post by Lunasa_Leo » Mon Jun 02, 2008 7:56 am

I have several decks that I enjoy, as I am an avid collector, but I generally always come back to the Rider-Waite deck.  When that one doesn't seem to be working for me I usually turn to the New Palladini deck or my Gendron deck, though I have also had much success with The Sacred Rose.  For a bit of novelty, I like The Tarot of Gemstones and Crystals as well as the I-Ching cards, though they aren't exactly tarot.

I will definitely keep my eye out for it

It's an absolutely beautiful deck.  Do any of you follow the precept that tarot decks are supposed to be gifts?  I have almost a dozen decks and I only bought two of them myself, the rest were gifts, and Ido seem to have better results on the gifted ones.

I think you are maybe even better with a deck that you choose yourself, mainly because you have connected with it & chosen it...something about it appeals to some part of you...of course gifted decks can be wonderful too because of the thought & love that goes into the giving of a gift....but it is possible that you may not "like" the deck & then might find it unreadable....The Magic is in YOU, not the cards.... the way you connect to & interpret the images makes the magic happen. I have many decks that Ive collected over the years & only a handful that I consider my "Reading Decks" that I am happy reading for other people with because I truly love them, connect with them on an intuitive level...

With Love & Light MM xx

Yes Moose you are more than likely right, The last few decks I've bought, were bought because my preference of card style freaks people out, So I went off and bought a few pretty decks, soft and pastel,
When I tried to read the one deck, gosh, I could read the pictures, but then the words 8 of cups or whatever, didn't describe what I translated, It gave me a headache, I haven't been in the reading mode for a long time,
But yes You are more than likely right

Ahh the Quantum Tarot, how lovely...I will be looking to get this one as well. I think you can pre-order from Amazon at present for the Majors only deck. Adam McLean is the publisher.... he does a lot of  special edition  tarot deck publishing & they are always of excellent quality. The deck creator is Kay Stopforth & is rooted in the theories of 20th & 21st Century Physics & was illustrated by Chris Butler using images from the Hubble  Space Telescope apparently!   :) MM

To read with, my hands down favorite is the Universal Waite. To look at would  probably be the Hanson Roberts or Golden Tarot.
