Ok, to explain or directly link the "Egyptian connection" goes further than only 3 cards.
We have to look to Egypt to find a common source and teaching. Hermetisicm was founded in Alexandria, Egypt. Linked, woven, stitched, call it as you want, is Freemasonry, and the teachings of the Golden Dawn. We can safely say that Alchemy has also been influenced by this. Numerous symbols, especially in the Major Arcanum has been inserted to refer and include the Hermetic tradition.
Starting with the Magician, the Orouboros around his waist--Alchemy,
High Priestess, the pillars and word TORA,
Hierophant, X Factor,
Lovers, Serpent,
The Chariot, Sphinx's,
Strength, Lion,
Hermit, retreat to desert,
Wheel of Fortune--Spinx and practically all the symbols are related to Hermetisicm,
These are only a few, we can continue to study this and you will see the connection is stronger via "hidden" symbolism to a central source, which is a theory based in Alexandria.

Blessed be.
