Astrological spread question

Can anyone please tell me why we read the cards in an ANTI CLOCKWISE order with this spread ? I know this is 'tradition' but can any of the Tarot scholars on here explain why and if possible how this came about ? Thanks in advance

I have never heard of this......reading the cards anti clockwise...
Cards are read usually through spreads and there are hundreds and thousands of spreads that in my opinion do not follow clockwise or anti clockwise patterns.
