Tarot Deck recommendations?

Post by GeminiGirl » Fri Nov 30, 2012 2:19 pm

Hello!
I'm wanting to buy my daughter her 1st tarot deck as a birthday gift.
I know there are many different options, and I've read about several, but I don't know how to pick one for her.
Any suggestions?

Rider Waite...the best for beginners. The rest are all based on this deck anyhow.

Thanks for the suggestion!
That's what I was leaning toward.

I have three

I have three or four favorites.  The first one is the Rider-Waite deck.  It's an older deck and been around and in use for years.  Then there is one of the most popular decks released this year, the Crystal Visions Tarot.  I'm not sure if I like that one, I'm still using it for some readings just to see how I 'feel' with it.  Another one is the Gothic Tarot (a friend of mine uses that one)

I wonder what you chose? I would've suggested a brighter deck like the Golden Rider or Radiant Waite, those seem to be really attractive to younger people and are both close clones of the Rider Waite just a bit more modern and colourful. But if you think that a more old looking deck then the Original Rider Waite, in fact like Cedars says any Waite deck would be good :)
