Post by WanderingCricket » Tue Sep 10, 2013 6:37 am

I did a Celtic Spread

1. The Hermit (reversed)
2. The Devil
3. The world
4. Jupiter ( or Hierophant)
5. Magician (reversed)
6. Chariot (reversed)
7. Emperor (reversed)
8. 5 of pentacles
9. Wheel of fortune
10. The Sun

I am still new to the tarot.. I understood most of it.. but have not seen a spread like this before. I would really appreciate any ones take on this spread.(your full out reading would be awesome) Also I have an Ijj swiss deck, just if your curious.

You never say what was your question.

What is this Ijj Swiss deck? Is that the one you have used for this reading?

And, to make things worse for you,  being new to the tarot, you have chosen a complex spread such as the Celtic Cross. You could not have chosen a worse spread.

I asked What was next, concerning a close friend and myself..

http://thetarotsense.wordpress.com/2009 ... arot-deck/

the 1jj swiss deck is fairly common. They were the first common print tarot cards in america. This is the deck I used for my reading.

When my cards were left to me, it was left with a study guide.. this was the only spread that was explained in the book..I've become rather fond of it, but it has proven to be quite confusing sometimes..

So? do you think you can help?

Not all Celtic Cross spreads have the same placement names..... Despite not liking this spread myself, I have no idea which version of the Spread you have used..

Sorry.

Hi There,

I have been fortunate to read the CC and specialise in it.

Now, the accepted and normal placement of the cards, describing each house is a s follows:+

1 : current situation,
2 : your cross or obstacle,
3 : near furure,
4 : the base or let's say "foundation",
5 : near past, giving way to your current situation,
6 : near future, expanding on your current situation,
7 : You, how you perceive that which is happening and actually describe your attitude,
8 : Your house, in effect, what's happening around you
9 : your hopes and fears - this card normally gives you what you want
10 : the final outcome - if you follow advice.

Then I added three cards of advice totally seperate! They don't form part of the reading but give you some insight of what to do!

I suggest you navigate to my "sticky" -- How much do you want to learn about Tarot and follow the template I compiled.

follow this link:

Once you have done that and placed your cards in that context, I will help you with the interpretation.

Blessed be.

Thank you for your reply. The book I have actually has it set up pretty much like that. except card 3 is base of situation, card four is a past card and 5 is near future. I do know how to do a basic reading. its just this spread really hit me weird and I wanted to make sure their was nothing I missed.... I wanted to get someone elses words (cause everyone phrases differently) ...

like one girl read them and told me I was going to end up pregnant with twins???
which is not something I saw. So if you have a lot of experience, I would love to know what you see.

Hi,

I have too apologise, but was in hospital for some time.

The CC is based on the Kabbalah or Hebrew Aleph-Beth, and in that sense there are placements which can not be changed at all!

3 is Gimmel, that is a period of activity before building a foundation in 4 - Dallet. So, house number 3 is your near future, based upon what had and is happening in house 4. House four describes matters which can not be changed as it is based on a four square, such as that of the foundation of a house. It also describes a period of "semi-stagnation", the time in which something becomes settled or the foundation is set and remains as IS! Have a good look at Four of Swords, Wands and pentacles, Cups describe something different again.

We have extended knowledge on card decks, as you can think or suppose, as we have been doing Tarot for many years. However there are some decks we just won't use at all! This is entirely up to the reader. Also, we have our own interpretations of the cards, as that is what a reader normally does.

Did you navigate to my sticky and apply the interpretations as outlined?

Blessed be
