Hi Talia

I have tried the Celtic Dragon deck but I could not connect with it. Lo and behold, one day my tutor came to me for a treatment and the deck was on the table and she picked the cards and looked at them. I let her be.......

Then it dawned on me that she is making (or has made) a connection with the cards.

You know the rest.

I gave the deck to her and she was in tears :)

Decks talk to different individuals in different ways. I have yet to connect with any other deck than the Rider Waite.

I know this is not the answer you were looking for... but have you tried the Celtic Dragon deck?

What did you think?

Rider Waite is best so far for me, I am not sure of using dragons instead of people? I am pretty basic so although I loved the pictures not the deck for me. I may go for another variant of the Waite, which one do you use?

I use the Original and the Universal.

There is a third variant - Radiant -  I found that  far too bright :)

Like you, I cannot relate to decks lacking human beings, and may be that is why I could not connect with the dragons.

Talia

I'm not sure how you feel about Ciro Marchetti's decks  >> the Gilded Tarot and the Legacy of the Divine....

The imagery is quite extravagant and somewhat glitzy to say the least.

What do you think?

Still not sure on the Ciro decks, too dark ? For me I think tarot speaks of people and imagery is second Idid find the Old English which is a nice mix, I like the old  :)

My thoughts too.. I dont like the modern, Hollywood type glitzy figures on the Marchetti's decks.

Yes lol,

I like it, perhaps the brightness helps my feminine thoughts, it is good for reading in the sunshine so far.

I also like the size of the cards, but don't know if they will last that long with working.

Do you just keep tp the one deck or do you use different ones?

I use my angel cards a lot, the orginal ones not the Virtue ones which are really not suitable for a tarot reader?

I only use the Original Rider Waite, although I have a Robin Wood deck which I dont really use it. My brother gave it to me.

I have the Universal Waite which is virtually brand new.

I have Virtue's Messages from Angels deck, but I dont remember the last time I looked at them.

Oh dear I just bought another deck, can't wait till it arrives. It was recommended by another reader because they know I love the RWS, its the Centennial Edition of the Smith Waite deck. Really lovely cards and a nice carefully and faithfully reproduced of the original 1909 deck :)

Cedars have you seen it ?

I've just seen the images...
I like the sepia effect of the deck.. the sort of toning down of the colours..
But.... it is rather a big deck in size. Would it be good just to have it on the bookshelf and less practical for readings...??

Moments later...
Having seen the package on Amazon, am I right to say that the size is in the whole packaging rather than the cards themselves? I hope the cards are the same usual card-size and not huge to handle...

The cards I received were slightly smaller than a normal deck and came in a lovely tin with two extra card examples of artwork. They are clearer and less stark than the Original Rider Waite deck and the borders are sepia and blend in rather than the bright white.  so far it is up there as my best deck :)
