Number 13 seems to be significant these days
I wonder about the number 13, it keeps manifesting itself. In ancient astrology, there were originally 13 zodiac signs(from what I have learned from TV). The Maya had a calendar based on the number 13, there are 13 root servers in the world, that last one is computer lingo. The Hopi Indians in Arizona have been telling about how the Earth will be encased in a web. I find this fascinating to see this number appear at this point in time(Doomsday 12/21/12). Look at that date, if you add the 3 pairs of numbers up separately, you get...13! Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Another one is that their were 12 deciples, and if Jesus is added you get...13! There were 12 tribes of Israel...with the separate clan the Levites scattered among the 12...which would make...13 tribes of Israel! And there is Friday the 13th, the day that the Templar Knights were disbanded. I sincerely believe that the number 13 is very significant. In what way, I do not yet know. 13 original colonies of the United States, with 13 stars in the flag, were their 13 stripes also?

Does anybody believe that Friday the 13th is necessarily a bad luck day anymore? Get over it. Superstitions make great copy and distill fear, the key element in our reality upon which most storylines are based. They control those who would allow themselves to be controlled, or more to the point, are programmed to that end and need to awaken and move beyond conditioning. In the 21st (3) century, for most adults ... it's just another day in the life.
The number 13 is probably the most common of all superstitions, considered a bad luck day unless you were born on Friday the thirteenth in which case it is allegedly your lucky day.

It was suggested by Charles A. Platt writing in 1925 that the reason 13 is considered unlucky is that a person can count from 1-12 with their 8 fingers, two thumbs and 2 feet, but not beyond that, so the number 13 is unknown, hence frightening, hence unlucky. This idea discounts the use of toes or other body parts in counting.
In Scotland, there is no gate 13 in any airport, instead there is a gate 12B.
