How does numerology relate to your house number

Well, all numbers have an "energy value" and therefore the number of your house has a certain "energy value" associated with it. Numbers greater than 9 are first reduced to their single form to determine the overall "value". For example, the number 35 is reduced to a single digit by adding the 3 and 5 together to make 8. So a house number (homestrology) of  8 (or 17 or 26 or 35 etc..) all have the same "energy".

In this case the number 8 equates to being in control of your life, assertive, good with finances, although it can also indicate a domineering or controlling nature, where the energy is negative rather than positive. The people living in the house might be influenced in this way and take on either positive or negative aspects of this energy.

This is not the whole picture, because the individual numbers which make up the house number (in our example 3 and 5) also have an influence and so the 8 vibration is modified slightly to include the energy of the 3 and the energy of the 5.

The 3 being the first number will be more prominent and may add fun or mental alertness or perhaps mean the domineering or controlling person in the household is also argumentative! The 5 will also add a component to this and either emphasise freedom and travel, where positive vibrations are experienced, or conversely someone might feel trapped and suppressed if one person is being domineering.

Where the same number is repeated such as in House Number 222, this will emphasise the effect of the 2 much more. In this case the number reduces to 6 emphasising the importance of the home and family in this house, as well as creativity. The triple 2's emphasising particularly sensitivity and awareness of the environment in the home. In a negative aspect, this might indicate emotional turmoil or hypersensitivity.



House Names can also be reduced to a number and therefore the numerological "value" determined. This is done by converting each letter into a number by looking them up in the following table. So A = 1, B = 2 and so on.

Then the resulting numbers are added together and reduced down to a single digit. For example, the name 'DUNROMIN' would be equivalent to 4 + 3 + 5 + 9 + 6 + 4 + 9 + 5 = 45. This can be reduced further to the single digit 9 (i.e. 4 + 5 = 9). So the numerological value of 'DUNROMIN' is 9, which emphasises completion and endings. Interestingly, the choice of name suggests that the occupants have finished their travelling and they intend this to be their final home.



The following table lists the general meanings associated with each number. There is a positive and a negative side to each number, for example a 2 can indicate sensitivity and awareness to the feelings of others although it can also mean wearing others emotions and hypersensitivity to surroundings.

What relevance does it have to your life?
Overall, a person's own energy is generally stronger than the influence of a particular house and the other occupants in the house will also be a factor in the equation, as they all interact. So, while there is some relevance to studying the numerological value of the house you live in, your own personal energy is much more important and will be by far outweigh the influence of the house.

However, where choice is available, such as in naming your home, then understanding the principles of numerology might help you choose a name that aligns with your own personality and aims in life.
