number "8"

In reading the Chaldean description for a birthdate/name breaking down to the number "8" it really surprised me as to how negative the description was.  It's even worse when combined witht he number "4".

The system of Pythagoras does not predict such a dire future for number 8s.

Chinese numerology says that the number 8 is very lucky.

I wonder why there would be such a difference in these interpretations.  Any ideas anyone?
