Life Path vs. Expression

Post by jdxjkl » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:55 pm

If I understand correctly, a life path of 8 deals with wealth and abundance. Not necessary seeking it but letting go and letting it come to you. And an expression of 3 deals with creativity and expressing oneself.

I don’t feel that being an executive in a big corporation is me. I know that is a pretty simple interpretation but I don’t want to be a big tycoon or something.  I’ve been thinking about stand-up comedy and performing, maybe even acting. That seems to fit my 3 but then I do think about, “well will I ever make any money?” and I would like to have nice things – who doesn’t. I also have a family of 5 kids and a wife to support. AAahhhggg

Help!

Your number 3 is a lucky Number, no need to worry about making enough money, as the power of expression 3 already give influence in attracting money to come to you

Thanks for the reply.

In your opinion, how does an expression/destiny 3 follow a life path 8? Does a life path of 8 have to deal with business? I'm really confused on how life path and expression/destiny work together and what's the difference.

Thanks for your help!

Life Path 8, and expression 3

Life Path, is path of your life. Expression/destiny, is How you make the best of your talent. Just like its name, Expression, it is how you express yourself. With your expression 3, I can Imagine, that you are a cheerful person, you love to make others laugh, and you probably enjoy singing as well.

Let me know if you have further questions

How do I use the two in a career choice? Which one should I look more to?

bridge number 5 and maturity number 11/2

The Bridge numbers in your chart are the numbers that indicate how you can make the relationship between the individual core numbers in your chart easier and more compatible. Bridge numbers have the potential to "close the gap" between the Life Path and Expression number, or the Heart's Desire and Personality number.

Life Path / Expression Bridge  number 5

Only the combinations 6 and 1, 7 and 2, 8 and 3, and 9 and 4 can cause this Bridge number to appear in your chart. The need to be more flexible and adaptable is required in all cases. Be willing to go out on a limb; be adventurous and unconventional. However, the combinations indicate rather different requirements,

Life Path 8 and Expression 3 or vice versa

The combination of business-minded, goal-oriented, determined, and visionary eight, and the playful, creative, outgoing, and happy-go-lucky three is unstable.

Your strength lies in using your creative talents in a business-oriented manner. Your weakness is your tendency to suppress your creativity in favor of career and business. This can make you overly cautious and slow to make decisions.

Your Maturity number indicates an underlying wish or desire that gradually surfaces around age thirty to thirty-five. This underlying goal begins to emerge as you gain a better understanding of yourself. With self-knowledge comes a greater awareness of who you are, what your true goals in life are, and what direction you want to set for your life. This, in a nutshell, is the gift of maturity: You no longer waste time and energy on things that are not within your own special identity.

No matter what your age is at present, your life is being channeled in a specific direction, toward a very specific goal. That goal can be seen as a reward or the fulfillment of a promise that is implicit in your current efforts, often without your knowing it consciously. While the characteristics of this number are usually visible during childhood, we tend to lose sight of these aspects until later in life. But our lives are always being affected by this influence, nonetheless.

Your Maturity number begins to have a more profound impact on your life after the age of 35. The influence of the number increases steadily as you grow older.

the 2 as a maturity number also you can be effected by master level energy of the 11
As you mature, you will discover that you possess a growing talent for understanding and working with other people. Your ability to influence others through tact and diplomacy will grow. These talents will further you along in your career or business. You will become increasingly shrewd, and will learn the art of discrimination. Your sensitivity to the needs and desires of others improves dramatically. You will be able to evaluate their motivations with a growing clarity and uncanny accuracy.

You find you can get more done by persuasion and gentle guidance than by force.

You may well have to learn to assume the role as the power behind the throne. Your influence is less public, and you may not always receive the public recognition you deserve. However, your satisfaction comes from seeing the fruition of your own ideas come about, the result of teamwork and cooperative efforts.

If you already have many 2s in your chart, especially in the core numbers, you may become overly sensitive, a characteristic you will have to keep in check. If you have few 2s in your chart, the influence of your Maturity Number will greatly increase your ability to work harmoniously with other people.

The Life Path, as is the case with all numbers derived from your date of birth, has to do with the momentum, the direction, of your life.  The Life Path is a cycle that runs from birth to death.  The notion that the Life Path is a cycle is not universally accepted (more about this in the audio lecture above).

Food for thought:
This age-old method is founded on the concept that your Life Path is based on your three Period Cycles.  Therefore, in order to calculate your Life Path number, you actually calculate your Period Cycles first.  Your three Period Cycles are based on your month, day, and year of birth, and represent the early, middle, and later part of your life respectively.  Your complete life's cycle — your Life Path — has all the attributes reflected in the Life Path's number.  However, the Life Path is also influenced by the properties and traits revealed in each of these Period Cycles.

Life Path 8

You are gifted with natural leadership and the capacity to accumulate great wealth. You have great talent for management in all areas of life, especially in business and financial matters. You understand the material world; you intuitively know what makes virtually any enterprise work. Your talent lies not with the bookkeeping or petty management, but with the greater vision, it's purpose, and long range goals.

You are a visionary and a bit reckless. You possess the ability to inspire people to join you in your quest, but often they are incapable of seeing what you see. Therefore, those around you need your continual guidance, inspiration, and encouragement. You must prod them into action and direct them along the lines of your vision.

You attract financial success more than any other Life Path, but effort is required.

Your challenge in life is to achieve a high degree of detachment, to understand that power and influence must be used for the benefit of mankind. Those born with the Number 8 Life Path who do not understand the real and relative value of money are bound to suffer the consequences of greed; they run the risk of losing it all!

You must learn to bounce back from failures and defeats. You have the character and resilience of a true survivor. It is not uncommon for a person with your Life Path to experience major reverses, including bankruptcies, and financial failure, but you also have the talent and the sheer guts to make more than one fortune, and build many successful enterprises. More than most people, your failures in marriage can be extremely expensive for you.

Despite the difficulties that life presents, you will experience the satisfaction that comes from material wealth and the power that comes with it.

Business, finance, real estate, law, science (particularly history, archeology, and physics), publishing, and the management of large institutions are among the vocational fields that suit you best. You are naturally attracted to positions of influence and leadership -- politics, social work, and teaching are among the many other areas where your abilities can shine.

You are a good judge of character, which aids you well in attracting the right people to you.

Most 8s like large families and sometimes tend to keep others dependent longer than necessary. Although jovial in nature you are not demonstrative in showing your love and affection.

The desire for luxury and comfort is especially strong in you. Status is very important. You must be careful to avoid living above your means.

Your Life Path treads that dangerous ground where power lies - and can corrupt. You may become too self important, arrogant, and domineering, thinking that your way is the only way. This leads inevitably to isolation and conflict. The people you run the risk of hurting most are those you love, your family and friends.

Be careful of becoming stubborn, intolerant, overbearing, and impatient. These characteristics may be born early in the life of an 8 Life Path, who often learn these negative traits after suffering under a tyrannical parent or a family burdened by repressive religious or intellectual dogmas.

Those with the 8 Life Path usually possess a strong physique, which is a symptom of their inherent strength and resiliency.

your individual talents and characteristics are presented by each letter in your name and its corresponding number. Like a mosaic, these combine to form a totality, a picture that reveals the real you. Your name at birth can be seen as a blueprint of your potential. The key word here is potential.

EXPRESSION NUMBER

The Expression number is derived from your full name at birth, meaning your first, middle (if you have one), and last names. Typically, it is the name that appears on your birth certificate. Occasionally, there are questions about exactly what name is used. A few examples, and how to decide which name to use, are listed below. These examples also apply to the Heart's Desire and Personality numbers.

When clerical errors occur on a birth certificate, if the mistake is accepted by the parents, and form that point onward is the acknowledged name, this name on the birth certificate, with the spelling error, is used to find the Expression number.

If the mistake is not accepted by your parents, and you grow up using the original name given by your parents - ignoring the clerical error - that original name is used to provide the Expression number, as opposed to the name with the error that appears on your birth certificate.

If you have been adopted, and you have been provided a new name by your adopting parents, use the original name given to you before the adoption.

If you were adopted, and never knew you original name, use the name that is the earliest remembered. However, without the original name, a complete chart may not be possible.

Even if you have never used your original name, that name still represents the blueprint of your life, and is used to find the Expression number.

Names given at confirmation, by a spiritual teacher or guru, or at some other religious ceremony, are not used for the Expression number, but can be used additionally to give further insight into the personality. (See Minor Expression, Minor Heart's Desire later in this chapter.)

If you received more than one middle (or last) name at birth, use all the middle or last names. If there is a junior, senior, the third, et cetera in your name, always discard such additions. They are too general to bear any significance to your name.

EXPRESSION NUMBER 3

You are optimistic, inspiring, outgoing, and expressive. People see you as cheerful, positive and charming; your personality has a certain bounce and verve that so powerfully affects others that you can inspire people without effort.

All of this upward energy is a symptom of your tremendous creativity. Your verbal skills may well lead you into the fields of writing, comedy, theater, and music.

Yours is the number of self-expression - rich in imagination and spirit. But you have to be careful not to scatter your talents. Your bane is that you often lack discipline and order in your life. Avoid becoming a "happy- go-lucky" spendthrift, escaping responsibility and commitment. You must learn to concentrate and focus.

These are the keys to your success. You have great potential in the arts and areas that requires creative solutions to problems. You are able to perform leaps of imagination, providing unconventional ideas as if they suddenly descended from above. Hard work and focus, however, are the foundation for a successful future.

Though you possess great verbal skills, your mind tends to see life as pictures rather than in words. Yet, you have the ability to think abstractly.

Creativity is a sensitive faculty that is often suppressed in childhood. If you lack the confidence to pursue your ideas, you may divert your abilities into a scattering of trivial pursuits.

To overcome this problem, you must make a choice. You have to limit your field of vision and the number of activities you engage in, and bundle your energies into a single thrust. Focus your life; choose the area that you love the most, and commit. There, you will find success. And a great deal of happiness.

Love, romance, and money are within your reach. You are aided by your friends and admirers. Often people appear out of nowhere to help you in key situations. You have to learn to accept the involvement of others in your life. You are not a loner, nor are you particularly independent. You are social - you need an audience and the support of others to fully realize your abilities.

On the down-side, you can be superficial, moody, and intolerant. You are emotional and sensitive, sometimes presuming criticism where none was intended. You can also be jealous and gossipy. Beware of becoming cynical and sarcastic. These traits can suppress your natural creativity.

Be goal-oriented. This is a practical, step-by-step approach to your larger ambitions. You possess the natural abilities to attain a high degree of excellence.
