Medical Massage vs. Spa Massage?

Post by Marquitta » Mon Feb 23, 2009 10:54 am

I was wondering if this statement is true:

If you go to school to learn clinical massage, that if you decide later on to work in a spa, they will teach you the spa techniques since you already know the medical techniques.

Is this true?

Thank you all!!! :D

Your school should give you the basic and advance principles of massage. Most will teach you the best of both worlds so to speak. Spa massage is geared more towards gentle, relaxation. Clinical massage is more health issue related, you have to know all of the anatomy, physiology, pathology, and advanced techniques. Hope that helps:)
