I didn't make a username. And Aegeus, I also heard that Facebook also makes money by selling your profile. Is that true?

There are a lot of sites that put you on a list of users and then sell it to the ones who want to advertise.  It is the nature of the internet.

For some reason I've always seemed to get away from commodities and things that everybody likes or has. I love my rare movies that only cult movie geeks know and my indie music. I'm a snob like that, yes. In other words I hate facebook cos everybody has it!!

I find the massive publicity that they make uber annoying and sort of asphyxiating and to be honest after reading that post about the goverment making it to monitor people there's no way i sign up on that site.

I know how you feel Rising Sun. I used to hate facebook because every1 has it, but in the end I sucuumbed. But at least now everyone's moving to twitter and I don't plan on making one there

it only allows you to write like 60 words per entry...
the whole twitter system is messed up and it's aimed at celebrities.

Well, the creator of Facebook is from Denmark, which is halfway around the world from the US.

If your government made anything in order to monitor people, it would be the extension of their original military-network that is today known as the internet.
