For some reason this DVD and book have caused so much controversy?  Perhaps it is about personal responsibility - when the reader/seeker is ready, the message is found.  Those are ready to hear the message (as old as time and repackaged) will 'get it'.  Those not ready to hear will ignore the message.

It is just a message.

This is what I was trying to say in the first place.
People have had debates around me all my life in regard to whether I  am right or wrong and that I have no Idea. I am here on this planet to help people find their way in life and if others don't understand they are not ready that's OK.

We are not here to judge we are here to help.
I thought this would be helpful information for some of the people I had read about. I was given the feeling to say something. This is generally a sign from Heaven, so I did.

also I have never been on a site like this before. It was a big step in my life to communicate with people via computer. Here I am. Learning how to type again and get the flow of the emotions through to my hands. It can be hard but with faith can be overcome. It just needs to read what I am trying to say. Give beginners a go they need practice to get to where others might be or might expect them to be.

eg. Father of my children expected them to get dressed by themselves when 1 1/2. Would tell them for 2 hours he was waiting for them to get dressed then they could go out!!!! He's 45 now and still expects that they should act like fully grown adults. Doesn't give them the support they need for learning, just tells them they should know already. He can't understand that we are supposed to teach them. It's been more trauma for me trying to tell a fully grown adult that they are babies and need help to learn and that he needs to learn and to change. Yes we are having huge problems (he doesn't know how to communicate with me or our children) he doesn't want to change yet everything around him has changed. This has all sprung up from his childhood. He's a wonderful person but totally stuffed up.

As a fellow newbie to this site/forum, I'm not sure that the others were having a go at you as such.  I think you all were trying to say something but perhaps it just wasn't coming across in the way in which you all meant it to.  I know Libby that you are feeling very sensitive at the moment because of yr personal problems, so  remember to take a breath and not react instantaneously.  Take a breath, count to 10 and then respond.

I know some of yr problems from yr posts and pm, and I can identify with some of it too from my own personal experiences.  We are who we are and we're on this earth for reasons that for some, are known and others, not yet discovered.  

This is not directed at you personally and is perhaps more to everyone, life is a huge learning curve and we all have different knowledge sets that can be shared between one and all.  We're all on this wheel of life and at different points.  Some are on the up cycle and others on the down.

A little love and understanding goes a long way dont you think?!

I'll stop my somewhat nerve frazzled ramblings now and shut up and go to bed.

spiritalk I am not sure what you are saying or who you are saying to.
If it's me I'm sorry. My personal messages are only given for personal information or because I couldn't find out how to find what I was looking for but could find the person.
Are you talking about the communities on this site? I had no idea it is against the rules. Could you explain what personal messages are for if we are not supposed to use them.
I'm not trying to hide any posts from anyone, I'm just trying to contact the person who needs the help.
I'm getting used to this site. So if you have any particular reason for this statement please let me know and I will adjust my posts appropriately.

I was turned off by the fact that they try to get money from you as soon as you look into it. They actually kept sending me emails for some time after. I just didn;t get a good feeling from the whole thing.

I think you will find that the message (The Secret) has taken on a whole different life of its own from what was expected and/or anticipated by its originators - the Hicks.  That is why they are removing themselves from the marketing of the CD.  They see a spiritual view, while the CD comes off as a material (how to get rich scheme) view.

Hi spiritalk. You are right, it has become a money making scheme and this is what Esther and Jerry Hicks have explained in Esther's Statement. The truth is the message. So I believe the book or the Original version of the movie is the way to go. Anyway I'm going to post Esthers statement here for people to read for themselves.

Dear Friends,

Nearly two years ago, while on-board our Mexican Riviera Cruise, Prime Time Productions did an interview with Jerry and me, and with Abraham, in response to an agreement that we had all carefully crafted together for a television show that was to be aired in Australia called "The Secret." We were told that "The Secret" would be based on our work and that they would seek out other teachers who were in alignment with our work. We reviewed, on DVD, two other projects that had been created by this production company and found them to be beautifully done, and good-feeling pieces.

Since Jerry and I had never before stepped into the public forum in that way with our Abraham work, we followed the advice of our publisher, who introduced us to an intellectual property rights attorney who assisted us in drafting the agreement which would guide our involvement with this project. He explained to us that although he had included in the intellectual property rights license agreement that we were to receive a small percentage of the net profit from this project, and 10% of direct video sales, that it was very unlikely that (from his experience) we would receive any substantial compensation from our participation, and we were not unhappy with that arrangement. Our decision to do it was not motivated from the idea of making money from it, (unless there was profit to share) but because we were stimulated by the excitement of this beautiful producer, and when we met her and her beautiful crew, we easily loved them all.

As time went by, it became apparent that the television network that we had been told would air "The Secret" was not going to do it, at least not right now, and so the production company began seeking other ways of marketing their beautiful project to recoup their very large investment. While Jerry and I were uncomfortable with what felt to us like a rather aggressive marketing campaign (just not our style, nothing wrong with it) we stayed focused on our busy schedule and really had very little to do with what was happening with "The Secret."

Eventually we received an email from the producer of "The Secret" lovingly explaining (we never have received correspondence from her that was anything other than extremely loving) that the contract that we had all agreed upon and signed was no longer sufficient for their further distribution of the project in the areas they were now seeking to distribute the project, and that it would be necessary for us (Jerry and Esther) to relinquish our intellectual property rights in these areas forever and redo our contract or they would have to reluctantly edit us out. It was clear, from the lovingly written email that they did not want to edit us out, but after conferring with our publisher, and then our intellectual property rights attorney, and finally with Abraham, allowing them to edit us out was the path of least resistance. Abraham's words were very clear and easy to understand: "Whenever you are given an ultimatum that says, 'if you don't do this, then we will have to do such and such,' it is best that you just let it go and move on. Otherwise there is always another, and this, and this, and this..." Now, it seems there is quite a firestorm surrounding our dis-involvment with "The Secret". We are receiving so many emails and letters and face-to-face questions from disappointed people regarding this, so we want you to understand how we feel about it.

We think that "The Secret" clearly and beautifully presents Abraham's Law of Attraction in a way that is easy to understand. It is filled with stunning beauty and beautiful people, many of whom are our personal friends. We love the way "The Secret" moves us, and we feel joy rise within our hearts every time we watch it. We feel the power of it, and the clarity of it, and we love "The Secret".

It is our desire that, rather than being upset that our part of "The Secret" will be omitted in future offerings of it, that instead you enjoy the original Abraham version, as it is, at this time, and that you look forward to what other incredible things these talented people may bring to you. These are people who clearly care about the planet, who want to be of value, and who, in our opinion, are of tremendous value.

Financially speaking, we have been very well paid for our participation with this project... which has amounted to a staggering amount of money. And if money were the most important factor, we assure you, we would have found some way of staying involved.

So, we're out here doing our thing, enjoying the incredible expansion of the message of Abraham, and are so looking forward to the wonderful things that are in our future. Abraham says to us and to you:

It is our desire that you be easy about all of this. There is nothing that has gone wrong here. Everything is in alignment. The Universe will offer a steady stream of uplifting avenues to all of you.
