Surely the only way to know your true inner self is by examining every action, meditating and accepting that none of us are even close to perfect.
Just because your name or birth day are such and such and the rules say that people with these names or birth days have these particular charateristics does not mean it is carved in tablets of stone.
Use the fruit test as an example, for me I picked a pear and it sums me up quite well, not perfectly but well enough, so does being an Aquarian, but they are not me. They don't come close to negative side.
It's like some of the other strange ideas that float about such as predestination, if your name or birth date really sum you up then no matter how you try to change - to improve yourself you never can because some arbitrary set of rulkes say you are this.
We are all able to change, perhaps the solution is we change our names as we go along - to suit our nature?

How can I ever know myself completely, as I change my mind and my philosophies more often than a ... er ... purveyor of horizontal refreshments changes her partners.
