But can anyone tell me why friday 13 is supposed
to be unlucky as 13 has been lucky for me "p.s. iwas a baker for 30 years
which may of had something to do with it

and swetha for the link I have a colleague at work who tell me it
was to do with sea farer never would set sail or launching a ship the 13 as lot sink because of it

You know in the USA, You wont find the #13 on the doors of Hotels...
They skip it...lol  I guess bad things happen in the rooms 13... My Husband knows more why.. but thats true.. You wont find them in NH..

How about where you live~? Is the #13 on the Hotel or Motel doors~?

That's kewl... It just seems to be a really good day for me is all...

That's like with Halloween, some think it's evil.. That's so untrue in my case... But others will think different about it... They just had this discussion on the View the other day... I use to hate Halloween, until I met my husband.. He makes it fun and very creative~!!  :smt008

now Halloween,seem unlucky for my dad my sister in law & brother in law all pass over around it give or take a day all in october

so if im not here next month you will know why

I noticed that big buildings don't have 13th floors too... I always wondered why they did that... kinda strange.

As was indicated, perhaps a day, a number, a particular event is just symbolic of our own experiences...good, bad, ugly, etc.  The Japanese do not like the number 4 and build there apartments without a 4th floor.  That was a new experience for me when a friend moved into a building that was built this way.

Interesting...to me kind of like superstitions of any kind...the more energy we give them, the more real they become!

The old saying about Friday 13th is suppose to be unlucky, or the number 13 is unlucky, was because centeries ago it was classified as a superstitous thing. I do believe it all came about with the Gypsies. So if your a person to believe in supernatural things then yes,,, # 13 is bad luck to some people, ..... But if you don't believe in superstitious then it is not a unlucky # or day. Hope this helps you...
