Moral characteristics??? Hmmmm am not so sure about moral but .... maybe if you cant help someone dont hurt them. Other then that morally speaking I dont think any really. As long as they dont hurt themselves on top of this I am fine with most things....

Not really sure what you mean by moral characteristics, but here goes:

Love - To never doubt that one is loved and to love life itself. To forgive those who act against us.
Honesty - Staying true to ones convictions, especially when it would be more convenient not to.
Justice - A good basic understanding of 'doing the right thing' and the willingness to do so.

I'd put 'Wisdom' on the list, but it's not really a moral characteristic, as much as it is the basis for anything worthwhile.

To love all animals & mankind. Never hurt anyone or any animal.

Honesty always. These are a couple of things I made sure my daughter knew growing up. And a bit of humility never hurts either.
I know theres more, but my mind is not working just right after still being so sick & a long Christmas day...WHEW! I am pooped!
