nuclear energy
nuclear energy could replace coal and oil as energy
should it be used
its the only energy that could keep earth going ,if the sun were to go out.
what do others think?

the sun still has something like 45 million years before it burns out.
So will we still be here in that many million years from now?
Will a horrible nuclear accident wipe out human life as we know it?
Will we have genetically evolved into something else?
Nuclear energy maybe a way to make energy but at this point in time its not clean and the best scientists in the workd still do not know how to get rid of or make safe the byproducts of this technology. Seems odd to habe nuclear power without that knowledge. I am pleased to say that my government has said no to nuclear power and has spent money on renewable sources of power.

hi nuclear energy might not be a good think but at the moment it is the only thing that will help us over here in South Africa as we aregoing through a energy crisis at the moment .we have load shedding every day.and is very annoying

Hehe, from a historical point of view - it does not seem like new energy sources will be developed before they are absolutely needed, after all - the atomic bomb came before nuclear power.
On the other hand, if entire governments are already commited to developing cleaner energy, then it could happen anytime.
I suppose eventually someone will figure out a way to convert any kind of energy into generic energy (and vice versa) and you'll be able to power everything you own with a little gadget sitting next to your doorbell.
Until then, however, I am personally for the developement of clean energy - we may have the right to destroy everything, but I tend to prefer niceties.
