What is in a name?

Post by valchenolf » Mon May 01, 2006 10:54 am

we all know names have meanings. Noticing that most of you have very interesting names that are not your real life name. I was wondering what your nicknames on here meant to you and how you came about to have such a name.

My real name is Jennie; which means white.

Co-incidently my nickname is usually white_wolf as I am lead by the animal spirit of a white wolf.

Valchenolf is my name through spirit simply meaning whitewolf in an ancient language that I am partially familiar with that has been forgotten... however, in this language it also means falcon eyes.

The name white wolf is more then a name to me, it's who I am and how I live my life.

Wolves symbolize leadership, wisdom and power. They have great strength and stand strong. They have natural hidden wisdom which they share with others. We all have a spark of nature within us.

White is a colour so pure, angelic and clean. Showing clarity and wiseness. Yet even the purest and whitest of whites all have the odd smudge!

So, please tell me what your nicknames mean, i'd really like to know!

Valchenolf.

Well Vishwas is my real name.

Vishwas means Trust or Belief.

I find it ironically funny for me to have the name. Even though everyone trusts me, I being an aquraian find it very difficult to trust ppl. As i was saying to u the other day jenniie, i find it difficult to trust a person, but once i do, i will do anything & everthing humanly & even un-humanly possible for them, just to keep them happy. The same applies to u here, & only a couple of ppl, including swetha & abhishek. So guys, u three ever need anything, plz always feel free to contact me.

Ok, i am getting rather emotional here, so i will stop about it.

But i wil say this, the source language of the word "Vishwas" is unknown to me, but it is used in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, & maybe Tamil & a couple of other north indian languages.

I heard even Buddhists & Jain's use this word, but i am not sure.

Here is mine:

DEBORAH
Gender: Feminine

Usage: English, Jewish, Biblical

Other Scripts: דְבוֹרָה (Hebrew)

Pronounced: DEB-or-a, DEB-ra   [key]

Means "bee" in Hebrew. Deborah was the nurse of Rebecca in the Old Testament. Also in the Old Testament, this was the name of a heroine and prophetess who led the Israelites in defeating the Canaanites.

My name was decided upon between me and a friend, at that time (but no longer a friend of mine).

Star was a horse's nickname I used to ride (My Magic Star, who is a beautiful Arabian Mare).
Chipper was a machine I had borrowed and used from my neighbor within the same year.

We decided to put both names together and there you have it:
