A perspective on Reality... :-)

Post by Rohiniranjan » Sun Aug 30, 2015 4:38 pm

Some rigidly and passionately maintain that Reality is universal and absolute!

But we can (my kind of regular, garden-variety, unascended folks, that is) only formulate reality through our perceptions! Though words-of-mouth (fuelled by Belief?) assure us that there are *those* who are self-realized or highly-realized folks (sages and Saint-types) who have **ascended** and they exist in the penthouses (unlike us lower floor or basement-dwellers, using the apartment building analogy of concrete jungles). Typically speaking, they remain unapproachable and tend to be silent! Our loss! Hey, as some folks were recently lamenting that forum has become sparsely inhabited lately, perhaps the silent ones have all ascended and observe us residuals silently <LOL>!

So, for most of us it seems our perspectives tend to change with growth, time and experience and so too does our sense of personal reality? This does lead to different folks having different senses of realty and changing with the flow of the sands of Time...?

Beliefs are rather powerful shapers as also are socio-cultural conditionings to which all are subjected to from the get go (birth). From cradle to grave, most seem to sway in the winds of borrowed concepts and words as these erode our perceptual faculties, perspectives, sense of reality. Most of us, anyways. Can this be healthy in a spiritual sense? In our lifelong quest of that elusive Reality that is shrouded by our enslaved and crippled perception...?

I wonder...!

But without those borrowed concepts and words, our accumulated knowledge as a species would not be available for us to be able to compare our perceptions of reality with.

Not everyone is ready to let go of the concept that Reality is universal and absolute, so what you might see as rigid and passionate defence of their beliefs is their only way of being able to function at this physical level. Everyone is at a different stage in the evolution of their soul, so we should not judge other people harshly for not being able to easily accept this new set of beliefs, as sometime earlier in our series of incarnations, we would have done exactly the same.

Whether they are ready or not to embrace a concept which could easily blow their minds has nothing at all to do with a person's intelligence, and we cannot learn everything at the same time. I seriously doubt that we have any ready to ascend masters among us, so I would not tend to include that possibility among the list of reasons why the forums are so silent lately.

My main message is not to regard those regular, garden variety, unascended folks as in any way inferior to those who are highly self realized, silent and unapproachable, as at some earlier stage in their soul's evolution, they must have been regular, garden variety and unascended themselves.

It has been said that a species cannot evolve as a whole if it leaves anyone behind, so all of us have some major catching up to do.

Eventually, we will all make it.

We need toilet attendants as much as we need philosophers and gurus in this world, so please let us put aside any suggestions of spiritual and intellectual elitism and looking down on people not interested in philosophy but more in their own physical survival as being ignorant, stubborn or strange.

All of us: philosophers and non philosophers, those who are regular garden variety unascended and those who are highly realized, ascended and silent, have our own small but critically important role to play in the web of Life in learning to know and understand ourselves better, and to help each other to heal and evolve. There are philosophers who can be just as rigid and passionate about wanting to keep the rest of us in the dark, so that they can look down on everyone as being inferior to themselves.

Perception and philosophy as well as the accumulated wisdom of the ages all have an important complementary part to play in our spiritual evolution, both at the individual and species level.

While these three elements have their limits with regards to what they are capable of teaching us in isolation from the other two, when combined together they reinforce and build upon each other (synergy) to help each of us to slowly but surely climb the same mountain, although we may take many different paths in order to be able to finally arrive at the summit.
So, for most of us it seems our perspectives tend to change with growth, time and experience and so too does our sense of personal reality? This does lead to different folks having different senses of realty and changing with the flow of the sands of Time...?

Yes everything and everyone is essential to the totality of *creation*, as too are the different perspectives, beliefs, superstitions and the rest of the entourage! ;-)

I hate mosquitoes but the hungry dragonfly disagrees!

I hate the disease-causing microbes but the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers who sell antibiotics disagree!! <LOL>
