Visiting India

Post by Talia » Mon Apr 10, 2017 3:19 pm

My family and I have been thinking of visiting India, but where to begin?

Any recommendations please? The thread about caste systems kind of scare me that we won't know enough about where we are going,

We all love spicy hot food and I remember somewhere that the spicier the food the further North? Is that correct?

Are there places to avoid? Things to avoid, drinking water etc, ice cubes etc.

My goodness Talia, the first thing you should avoid on any holiday hot, spicy food!
I have never been to India but I would not take chances eating spicy food anywhere. Or, perhaps it is my system that does not like too hot-spicy foods and being on holiday, it is a good recipe for 'inconvenience' to say the least - this has nothing to do with Indian food which I do eat here at least once a week.

As usual, with any country outside the norm of your own country's food and water system, I suppose bottled water would be the ideal thing to stick to. Stock up with Imodium too :smt031

I will leave the Indian experts to give you a better answer to your questions.
Happy holidays!
