Ba Gua

Post by sarah » Fri Jun 17, 2005 9:46 am

The bagua (ba: eight; gua: area) is a map of the energetic world. It is traditionally shown as an octagon with eight sections surrounding a central area, the tai chi. The qualities of each outer sector are represented by a trigram composed of solid (yang) and/or broken (yin) lines.

To make it easier to apply this energy map to your space, we extend the corners of the bagua to form a square, then divide it into nine equal sections:

The bagua divides any space into nine areas. Each area corresponds to a different aspect of your life. Whatever is going on energetically (good or bad) in that part of your space will affect the related aspect of your life (see diagram below).

Align the bottom edge of the bagua with the wall the door is in. Stretch the bagua sideways or lengthwise to cover the entire space. The door or entryway will always be in ken, kan, or chien gua, although it may overlap more than one gua. As you stand in the doorway facing into the space, hsun gua is always at the far left; kun gua is always to the far right, and li gua is always at the center of the wall opposite you.

If there is more than one way to enter a space, orient the bagua to the main door or entryway. Even if you usually enter your home through the garage, align the bagua of your home to the front door.

Every space has a bagua. There is a bagua for your plot of land, a bagua for your house, and a bagua for each room within your home. You can even apply the bagua to your desk, bed, or stove.

The bagua is rich with meanings and associations. The most important meanings of each gua are shown below....

Baqua is, basically, a term or a tools used to explain a circular direction such as an earth.A circular space has 360 degree is divided into 8 major portion , each called a qua which is 45 degree. Ba meaning in chinese is 8 Qua is the portion. Baqua or 8 portion is a circular space having 360 degree made up of 8 section each of 45 degree. It is further tune defined to possess more other values for the purpose of Fegn shui priniciples. There are Three type of Ba qua, The Pre-Qua, The Post Qua and The Xuan Kong Qua. Most people know about the pre-qua , the post Qua and NOT THE Xuang Kong Qua. In facr, very very little Master know about or even a ware of the Xuan Kong Qua.

Many many others have mistaken Xuan Kong Qua as what it is by right. To apply xuan kong feng shui, one has to know and master well what Xuan Kong Qua is. The xuan kong qua widely interpretated and applied is errorneous, such as the case in Xuan Kong flying Stars and Xuan Kogn Da Qua. The xuan kong qua refered there to are wrong.

Pre-Qua and Post Qua have their respective Qua name at different location. The pre-qua are the natural qi of yin and yang facing opposite each other. Their sex is reflected by the broken or straight line each line graph or hexigram of three line it is made of and it carries. Whereas the post qua do not exist in this unique pattern, it merely show time of acitivity and repearting just like the sun rises and set.. The pre-qua resembling the natural qi of yin and yang flow freely in the air and when they are on earth it cross with the qi of the post qua to follow and disappear with time like sun rises and sun set too.

These two qua signify Yin and yang qi always live in a couple and they come and go with time while on earth. The timing concept of ying yang qi explained and represented by the post qua enable the calculation of the time period, where these qi will be and are. Thi shas pout in mathematical equation of the flowing and rising of these qi within a grand cycles of 180 years which is a product of the interreaction of the solar system by and between The sun and its neighbouring plannet and stars.

The chinese use the Ba qua , pre Qua and Post Qua concept to understand and assess the influence of the sun on the growth, development and prosperity of all beings, both living and non-living on earth. The behavior of ying and yang qi that form all being on earth is under the direct influence of the Sun movement and the solar system.
