what is it exactly you want to know....?

It is quite a detailed study, but well worth it, because this is the oldest extant oracle/wisdom text in the world, and IMHO the best.

A good understanding of Daoism is essential - not the religious aspects so much, but the ideas of mystical daoism, which is greatly steeped in the observation of the natural cycles and movements/transformation/changes of the natural world.

The first place to begin with is to understand what YIN and Yang are.

A good translation (preferably with commentaries) of Laozi's "Daode Jing" (also spelled, Lao Tzu "Tao Te Ching") is a good place to start. Any book which gives an overview of this topic is also good. Shambhala Publications produce a lot of good books along these lines.

Look for names like Eva Wong, Thomas Cleary, Livia Kohn are just three off the top of my head.

If you tell me what you're really trying to grasp, I can assist you to the best of my understanding....  :)
