I've read quite a few and I like Sonia Choquette's book,The Psychic Pathway over all of them. She explains the HOW TO in a step by step 12 week course you follow and log your progress.

I find a lot of CDs or Videos have the scenes and sounds to be hypnotic.  Hypnotism is not the same as meditation and attunement.
