trick of the eye?

Post by Ramesses » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:20 am

I wasn't sure where to post this. When I focus my vision on just air like I am trying to look at a specific point in space. I see movement. It is almost like static from TV screen but different. It only works if the space is fairly close to me. Is this a trick of the eyes? Does any one know what this could be? I tried explaining it to my doctor one time and I just got a weird look. I posted this in the Psychic forum because I am not sure exactly what I am seeing or even how to describe it other than static on a TV screen. Or it also kind of looks like a bunch of dust particles (that are alive) and moving very fast in a set plane.

Its not likely to be anything paranormal or the likes.
It sounds like the normal gelatinous material in one of the eyes layers.
You could get an eye doctor to take a look at it, but its not usually deliberating.
An expert in this field is called an  Ophthalmologist.

people with this also describe it as seeing lots of little worms like you would if looking through a microscope at a virus.

Does it look like glitter?! I see this all of the time too. I made a post about it called seeing glitter. Read that, I think it will answer your question

There is the link to my previous post about this. Also, to start where I left off on that, energy is visible, like seeing the aura- it is energy. Energy is everywhere and sometimes we see it when we don't try to (if we are used to it), and we don't expect it so we don't know what it is for a second- or at least I don't. I hope this helps, let me know what you think!

Hi Autumn Rose,
while your friend provides a logical explanation, you should also consider that from what you describe this happens with a changing of the light that your retina is working on at the time.
One explanation is phosphene
some wiki explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenon
While this is not typically a life threatening issue, you really should investigate medical causes ..

Are those the only kinds of things you see from this entoptic phenomena? None of those really describe what I am seeing or the atmosphere (bright lights, tight eyes, etc..). But I will look into getting my eyes checked. Actually, I really have been thinking about that for a while anyways.

The reason why I say none of them are what I saw is because I know what a lot of them are and see those as well, so I know it isn't that. The other ones that I haven't seen doesn't look like what I am seeing... Just wanted to be more specific

Hi Autumn Rose..
i really cant say if they are the only ones or not. Keep in mind that Wikkis dont usually provide a full detailed study of all things.
Id be interested on what the specialist tells you in this instance.. Im thinking its sounds the same but unique to your experience of it...
lol. if it comes up again I can refer back to it and look like a genius.

It sounds like a common physical phenomenon. It can be caused by high blood pressure as well! it certainly can't hurt to have that checked as well. It is not ususally life or sight threatening, but high blood pressure can be!
