for me ,meditation is to controll the thinking prosess of the mind .

I simply count my breaths ,1,2,3,1,2,3 within a few seconds ,you may stray off in thought ,just go back to the count .

what you'll realize is how hard it is to focus on the breath count. Its just an exersize to help control your thoughts.

this is the simplest form of meditation that I know of.

Thank you very much - I like easy!  There is enough stuff in today's world that is difficult, so easy is good.  Will try it soon!

If you want to count - do it, it works but be sure to build a pause in, one at the end of the in breath and one at the end of the out breath, use your diaphragm - that's what it's there for.

Thank you Prof. Akers!  :smt002  My problem is that I talk fast and breathe too fast  and get light headed  :smt003   I've been in such a funk that maybe trying to meditate again would help.
