IN PRAISE OF PURE AWARENESS -- OM NAMAH SHIVAYA

Post by Pravin Kumar » Sun Apr 08, 2018 10:32 am

In Praise of Pure Awareness - Om Namah Shivaya

Four uses of this mantra to enabling one to Awaken by going 'Beyond The Separate Self'. Chanting, meditation, contemplation and 'direct seeing'.

Om Namah Shivaya

‘Om Namah Shivaya’ may be chanted with devotion,
Losing self by praising Consciousness, at rest and in motion.
Or may be used in meditation as a vibrational ‘potion’,
To reveal ‘Aware Nothingness’ and merge back into The Ocean.

Or one can contemplate to find where its meaning lays,
Om – the totality of all that’s in existence,
Namah – used in mantras as ‘salutations’ or ‘in praise’
Shivaya – of Shiva, Universal Consciousness.

Praise Pure Awareness,
Consciousness at rest,
In Which nothing less
Than all appears to manifest.

Praise Radiant Awareness,
Consciousness at rest,
In this Dazzling Darkness,
All is seen which manifests.

Praise Pristine Awareness,
Consciousness at rest,
Into which the manifest
Returns to Nothingness.

Mantra repetition may help us directly see,
Two perceiving principles there must be
Nothingness in Which we know it’s there,
Also Awareness, so of it we are aware.

For our perception of anything to know,
In Awareness and Nothingness it must show,
These are attributes of Consciousness – That,
So perceiving the mantra can reveal this fact.

A new poem based on a chapter of 'Ripples In The Lake Of Eternity'.
