Dwell Not in The Inner Void

'Dwell not in the inner void,'
From Seng-Tsan's poem Hsin-hsin Ming,
No need for the world to avoid,
Just Be, 'serene in the oneness of things'.

For if you attempt to still the mind,
By meditation, concentration and force,
Only temporary peace you will find,
Till suffering resumes as a matter of course.

Meditation is best when it can reveal,
That the separate self is just an illusion,
No matter how blissful it makes you feel,
This knowing is needed to prevent confusion.

For all is Consciousness at rest and at play,
The former Awareness perceiving body and mind,
That's our true essence at the end of the day,
Also that of everything in the world we find.

Oneness, so when identified with This,
We can see serenity at the heart of everything,
If we find this peace is going amiss,
Weve nodded off misidentifying as a thing.

This is a clarion call to reinvestigate,
To discover the Awareness at the core,
Seeing each experience as a fleeting state,
Not needing to search for more and more.

Not 'clinging or searching' stills the mind,
Much better than trying hard to dwell in the void,
So, whatever occurs, peace one can find,
With serenity in oneness we'll become alloyed.

I write (and read) these posts, based on my meditations and contemplations, as much for my own benefit as for that of 'others'. For this helps to keep me 'awake' in this illusory, and impermanent, world ... our perception of which is based purely on our physical, and mental, configuration.
