Awakening Creates a New World-View

Identifying with Awareness Pure,
Creates a modified ‘world view’,
Not as an object, that’s for sure,
So one perceives all things anew.

When one sees things ‘as they are’,
No longer through a selfish filter,
No thing can our essence ‘jar’,
Or our appreciation of life deter.

For we’re greater than the body and mind,
An instrument of That – our true ‘being’,
Through which It can its creation ‘find’,
Experience and enjoy what it’s seeing.

This constant, conscious, perceiving presence,
The foundation of all, which we share,
Awareness our vital and fundamental essence,
So for ‘others’, as ourselves, we care.

In this there is no separation,
But we each display a unique fleeting expression,
Of Awareness a manifestation,
With different characteristics whilst ‘in session’.

In Consciousness at rest all does arise,
As in, and from, stillness all movements commence,
In This they abide, are spied and subside,
For motion reverts to stillness when energy’s spent.

Seeing all as expressions of This,
Can lead to loving all manifestation,
Lover and beloved feeling the bliss,
Of union with no possible separation.

A poem based on a chapter of 'Freedom From Anxiety and Needless Suffering'.

I write (and read) these posts, based on my meditations and contemplations, as much for my own benefit as for that of 'others'. For this helps to keep me 'awake' in this illusory, and impermanent, world ... our perception of which is based purely on our physical, and mental, configuration.

For more poems, articles, photos etc. see the comment on the photos.

To be honest I feel that many more of us would benefit from you describing your own meditation experiences, and sharing with all our members what you have intuitively learned about your true inner nature, through regularly meditating.

Be sure to include both the positive and negative experiences and discoveries resulting from your meditation sessions, as well as of any alternate mind improvement techniques which you have trialed (self hypnosis, affirmations while in an altered state of consciousness etc).

Only telling us about the benefits of your meditations without the inevitable mistakes and downsides, tends to create unrealistically high expectations in others about what is achievable, particularly in those of our members who are just starting out on their meditation journey.

While I recognise that the theories behind meditation are of great academic interest to some of us, I would much prefer more emphasis on what is both practical and personal to YOU, and conversely less copying and pasting of some stranger's musings.

More about you.

Less about strangers.

Thanking you sincerely for your long time loyalty and commitment to our community.

Your considerable knowledge and experience in the area of meditation and mind improvement are beyond question.
When the student is ready, the teacher appears.
Teach by your own example, and personal experiences of meditation and other mind improvement methods.

This discussion is of course open to any other member who has meditated or used mind improvement methods.

Salutations!
