Is The Sense Of Separation A Mistake?

It was posted that the sense of separation,
Is not a mistake, a perfect expression,
Of the ‘universal energy’ a manifestation,
Even if it’s the cause of depression.

The ‘separate self’ is just but an illusion,
The mistake is believing that it’s real,
Which can cause apparent exclusion,
And suffering, if separation we feel.

To which he replied that it’s not a mistake,
Just ‘divine hypnosis’ creating confusion,
To negate this there’s no action to take,
Nothing to be done to escape this delusion.

He posited that it’s all perfect as it is,
No matter how erroneous our identification,
The hypnosis can only be broken by This,
The Absolute, from which there’s no separation.

Which is fine if you’re awake and can this see,
But useless to most of humanity,
Yearning to transcend suffering and be free,
Readily achieved by self-inquiry.

For when we ask ‘who am I?’,
Discarding the flow of fleeting objects,
We discover, by and by,
Awareness – The eternal subject.

The constant conscious perceiving screen,
On which thoughts and sensations appear,
That which all our experiences has ‘seen’,
Our True Self – beyond all angst and fear.

I write (and read) these posts, based on my meditations and contemplations, as much for my own benefit as for that of 'others'. For this helps to keep me 'awake' in this illusory, and impermanent, world ... our perception of which is based purely on our physical, and mental, configuration.
