Christians and Muslims don't match horoscopes of the bride and groom. But there are not much problems seen in their marriage life.

Which cave had you been living in, friend! Look at the divorce rates in christian societies! I do not know about muslim countries, but only know that in muslim marriages, a amount is decided during Nikah by Kaji that the bridegroom must pay to the bride (as insurance!) in case there is a divorce! Since this 'arrangement' is solemnized at marriage, obviously divorces do take place in muslim alliances too and are recognized and a provision set aside for at the time of the joining of fates!

As RRji told you, there is big difference between East and west, and I think you are wrong when you look out from belief...that be Religion or Traditional.

What you must look for is the value of the woman....not in money...but in equality.

If we have a society where the male is seen as the strong part, and it is generally accepted that he rule the family...a divorce is a big step for any woman to do....and she has the choice to accept unfairness (seen from her) because she feel the cost from society, and the fear for future is higher if she divorce.

In the west there has long been working for equality between the sexes.
There is no shame in divorces, and mostly the woman get the kids and half the value of the combine value they have. If the children is underage, the male might also be given the task to pay contribution to them each month, until adult (18).

This will of course lower the step for taking divorce.
So if any of the partner feel that the other don't value them, they have the freedom to ask for divorce, knowing that they can manage.

This will of course lead to many divorces when people jump into "burning love" and marry, without really knowing each other.....
What count most in marriage is the ability to give....not so much to take.
If both are willing to give....then both will receive .because the more we learn each other, the more we know about our partners wishes, and might fulfill them.  and both will have a happy marriage.

If one gives...and 1 takes...the one who give will burn out...because there is coming nothing in and he/she will feel empty.

But please do not knock BABA! If you study vedic symbology, very picturesque you will come upon an image very mystical but yet so beautiful!

MA KALI while She was rampaging and creating trouble and killing all demons is often depicted in religious images and paintings etc as CHAMUNDAA, completely berserk in RAGE stepping on Her Husband Shiva's chest and realizing that that was not appropriate, she bit her tongue, publicly!

Many interpretations can be made or created of that image, but to me it always meant the enormous capacity of Women who have experienced motherhood!

The balance to destroy the evil when angry, but yet to not forget to realize who they love and are fighting the demons for!
