THOU ART PROTECTED BY THY DIVINE GUIDE...! :-)

Dear ALL!

Across the cultures, east west north south and in different religions there runs a common thread of belief in there being a para-human, or rather supra-physical protective entity!

Guardian angel, Farishta, Ishta Devta etc etc.

As is applicable to at least modern jyotish, although the same exists in other belief-systems too, jyotishis have always been curious about this 'protective entity' that anecdotes (many different cultures, perhaps ALL?) exist aplenty about.

At least in relatively modern times, some systematization has been introduced by a few modern jyotishis, presumably based on ancient and somewhat guarded hints. So we hear about the karakamsha (sign representing the navamsha placement of atmakaraka - the longitudinally most advanced planet in a chart -- regardless of sign. E.g., if mars is most advanced, let us say 25 degrees in any sign, and all other planets are less than 25 in their signs, then mars becomes the atmakaraka. Now mars may be in virgo, but will be in leo navamsha, so LEO is taken as the karakamsha sign) will bear the hint about this 'protective entity'.

But NOT LEO itself but the 12th sign therefrom! The planet placed there in cancer then becomes the indicator of this DIVINE ANGEL PROTECTOR!

But which planet? Planet sitting in CANCER sign in D1 or planet sitting CANCER sign in D9...?

Most software and prompted by different scholars give both options: Karakamsha based on D1 or karakamsha based on D9!

Merry, merry, merry! More toys and distractions for the hapless kittens!!

Recently, this issue came up, and people young and old, knowledgeable and otherwise, began to pour belief-statements and soon the plate got filled with what I always see as a "dog's breakfast after the dog is done...!"

Why Navamsha or karakamsha and the 9th lord therefrom in navamsha??

Fifth is the house of mantra and poorvapunya etc but it was ignored. Vimshamsha (D20) that is the varga prescribed by Parashara and others as the gauge of spiritual progress -- ignored!

WHAT HAVE YOU ALL FOUND ON THIS TOPIC?

Where HIDE the guardian angels, Ishta-Deities and similar in the horoscope?

SHARE and SPEAK UP!!

Love, Light, PROBINGs!!
