Soul mate matches

Post by solo105 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 1:56 pm

What would be an ideal soul-mate match combination for a male with -

Sun Sign = Pisces, Rising Sun = Pisces
Moon Sign  = Sagittarius (as per western astrology)

OR

Sun Sign = Pisces, Rising Sun = Pisces
Moon Sign  = Scorpio (as per vedic astrology)

?

This highly romanticised term popularized by the upsurge of New Age Thinking and its acceptance and permeation of its terminology in modern colloquial lingo and usage, "Soul Mate" is an interesting concept but what does it exactly mean?

Many see in it harmonical fragments of soul which have been born as individuals who meet and then life is a bowl of sweet cherries. Others, of more grounded mindsets even see in such pairings a seemingly negative union which has strong karmic lessons for both, and the plethora of possibilities extend as far as the horizon of individual imagination.

Most, however, just get tickled by the imagery that such a term conjures up, because the term underlies what I call the 'ET quest or dream'! That they are not alone, not left forlorn and marooned in this vast land and realm of Human Experience!

Earlier, "Time Twins" was also used and many similar terms, concepts, fuelled and fired by tales of romance and romanticism.

I have had the privilege of studying several of such claims, and seen positive and negative instances, astrologically (jyotish).

Soul-mates had nothing to do with melapak and only inconsistently did the concept of other synastries (including western/tropical) played a significant role.

It is true that there arises instantaneous feeling of compatibility between two nativities and sometimes the ascendants, moons, relevant charakarakas (Jaimini) do play a role or perhaps seem to play a role. However, if enough cases are examined with appropriate feedback from the nativities, it appears to be a hit or miss thing at best.

Rather than trying to figure out "which sign etc I would be most compatible to" and then fishing out the flashlight to go out in search of those, better approach would be to see points of compatibility and more importantly complementarity between individuals who are in your circle already.

Soulmates, if such is truly a real phenomenon/label is about complements (not compliments!) and such 'dove-tailed' pieces of destiny (if that is what those are!) would be more growth-promoting and fulfilling!

Basically, the point is not trying to find a whole (person!) but finding and seeking what facet in a person makes something within mutually WHOLE and COMPLETE and leads to progress spiritually!

It could be a teacher, a brother, a sister, a lover, and in some cases a stranger!

Good luck with your search! However, please don't forget living while the search is in progress!

Astrologically, people with compatible navamsha seem to get along better, rather than the whole sign or even the whole star, and only if the navamshas do not have other negative or occlusive influences. Navamshas of the same nature being in trines are easier to get along (navamsha dispositors must be paid heed to!), whereas, those of the same element (angles) pose challenges, healthy or unhealthy based on certain factors including dispositors and their mutual placement etc.

"Getting along" does not make a liasion fruitful or healthy!

"Challenges" do not make a liasion less welcome or unhealthy!

If *lessons* so decree and those can be seen in a chart in several different ways, which is standard jyotish delineation but one has to go deeper than the level that most beginners seem to get stuck at!

Best wishes.
