Maraka houses are the 2nd. and 7th. houses. Therefore the maraka planets are the lord of the second and seventh houses.
The maraka planets have killer propensities, and are death inflicting by nature.
They have the power to cause death/death by accident and the like.

Actually the Maraka houses (maraka sthanas) have more death inflicting by nature; more so if they are afflicted, in short.

Yes, the maraka planets and houses have gained much importance. as they have death inflicting powers.
