planets differ

i am working on a chart for a friend. i caome up with a planet being in one house, but when i go online the planet shows up in the previous sign.  could it be that it it is on the lineof the houses and the time differes?

Most online software programs there default house system is Placidus, unequal houses. Sounds like your software programs is set to Equal House, well done, cos that the oldest and most reliable and traditional and the one i teach, lecture on.....

Keep doing the studying for yourself and compare how the planets interpretations alter when they move house and evaluate for yourself luv....
