Hi guys!

Post by MartinJakobsen43 » Thu Sep 11, 2014 8:43 am

Hi there,

I am looking for some good advice regarding the design of this website. We have been working on it for a long time now, and it is about horoscopes. I hope you like it regardless, but it is in Danish.

link removed

Best regards, Martin

Hello Martin,

I have moved your posting into this forum as I believe that if you are looking for Danish web designers who specialise in astrology/horoscope sites, this is the board on which you have the best chance of finding him or her.

All the very best of luck with your site, and I hope that you will eventually return the favour by displaying a clearly visible link to Mystic Board as part of the final version.

Cheers,

EoT  :smt003

Martin,

If you are as I think that you are wanting to design a website in Danish which can also be understood by people who do not speak Danish, the following web page may be of some assistance to you.

Although this material is mainly for multilingual websites, the same general principles should equally apply to your Danish astrology site.

"7 Tips and Techniques For Multi-lingual Website Accessibility"

http://www.nomensa.com/blog/2010/7-tips ... essibility

If self designing a website is as much beyond your ability and knowledge as it would be beyond mine, could I please suggest that you might get a suitable web designer's attention faster if you simply asked them to help you design an astrology site, and then get it translated into Danish (or you could translate it for them), and insert the appropriate two character code in the HTML so that people from other countries can understand and use it.

My thinking is that there are probably far more people willing to design an astrology site for you first in English which can then later be translated into Danish, than there are people who only design astrology sites exclusively in the Danish language..

Hoping that this helps,

EoT  :smt017

Dear Eye of the Tiger,

Returning to give you an update :)

The website I was looking for design advice to is now - after less than two years - the biggest Danish horoscope site. Since then we have launched equivalent sites in Sweden, Holland, Germany, Thailand and are now on a .com venture to become the top world wide provider of free horoscopes. The domain name for the .com website is link removed and it is English - so you will now have a chance to follow the process. It is brand new and I welcome any critic from you. If the link bothers you, you are welcome to remove it - but please have a look anyways.

I would like to extend my gratitude towards you and your forum for the advice given. In the astrology world, there has only been few platforms like yours, being friendly and helpful. Again thanks a lot for this!

Best wishes Martin Jakobsen

Thank you Martin for letting me know how my advice helped you.

I am always pleased to be of assistance.

I did remove the link, but not before viewing your site. I also removed the site URL from your signature.

It looks very professional to me and I especially liked your choice of colours, as the high contrast between them makes it easier for me to read the text. My eyesight is no longer what it once was when I was younger.

I really could not find anything negative about it.

I also liked that the home page was not cluttered with unnecessary and distracting graphics, and the menus all operated as expected, in my three web browsers (Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer) running under both Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate Edition and Windows 8.1 Professional Edition.

Wishing you all the very best with your international horoscope site, and thanking you once again for taking the time to let me know how much appreciated my efforts were on your behalf.

Cheers,

My name is Brian.  :smt006

Could you please explain why you believe that a question about an astrology website does not belong on an astrology forum?

I am interested in hearing your reason(s) for saying this.

Thanks,
