General reading as requested

Post by eye_of_tiger » Mon Jan 28, 2008 11:23 pm

Hi Stacie, :smt006

I will interpret this as meaning that you are requesting a general reading, where you are open to any messages which may come through on your behalf.

While the following three cards were not specifically in an order representing your past, present and future (as you will soon discover once you have started looking at what I have written), they are discussed below in the same order in which they were drawn in your reading.

King of Pentacles - Kings represent the fire, passion or driving force behind whatever you have set out to achieve in your life. You are highly energised and motivated to move forwards with your plans and to if necessary enlist the help of others to manifest your most cherished desires and dreams. They also generally mean that you are probably at the very beginning stage of a new and important phase of your life, which roughly coincided with the start of the new year. Kings are people who are at their very best when they feel in command or control and without them as leaders all the ambitious plans you still have on the drawing board would remain just that - plans. Being Pentacles or sometimes substituted by Coins, this King is thought to be associated with money matters, or in the starting of a new business. Perhaps you are currently in the process of planning to build a new house or to find some other alternate source of income to allow you to put your plans into action more effectively. He often represents a well respected, hard working individual (either male or female) who is at the helm of the business, and whom runs a very tight ship. While at times he can seems somewhat distant and aloof, especially when he knows he is having to work to a deadline, underneath he really cares deeply for those who are under his supervision but he would regard showing this as a sign of weakness, and therefore often chooses to conceal this from others to promote their co-operation in getting the job done well, and on schedule.

Ten of Wands - Tens symbolise the ultimate good or bad of the element represented by that particular card. While just as with the King they are thought to represent your passion and motivation to succeed, they tell you something more about the previous phase of your life which has now come to an end than they do about the one which is only now beginning. If the King represents in which direction you are presently moving, the Ten of any of the four suits tells us something about from which direction you have come? The Ten of Wands effectively means that you have pretty well exhausted all the energy you started out with. This card represents the downside of a person always wanting to feel in control of a situation. While it feels good to be looked up to by others as a being a just and wise leader, and to be able to take a lot of the credit when things work out as you expected they would, it also means that you must bear much of the responsibility if things do not. This mantle of responsibility which you have taken on as your own is increasingly a huge burden on your ability to cope, and to make matters worse anything which you perceive as being a failure by one of your team is automatically accepted as your own responsibility and fault. You therefore tend to push yourself beyond a comfortable limit with the intention to ensure that everything goes relatively smoothly, and take the entire troubles of the world and everyone in it on your capable but still relatively inexperienced shoulders.  You may believe that by doing everything yourself, the chances of failure are significantly reduced, but this does not do much of a positive nature for a feeling of team spirit amongst those who work under you.

Nine of Cups - Nines are often interpreted to mean that you are in a resting phase after having successfully completed one phase, but before the next phase is soon to begin. This temporary period of time out a valuable opportunity for the person to take a step backwards, take stock of the situation and to admire what has been gained, much of it through his or her good leadership. This then is a time for basking in and taking well deserved credit for the many personal and other sacrifices which you have made in the past to allow you to get to this particular point in your life. The really good news  is that they are frequently seen as an excellent omen for future successes about to unfold and  overall they are thought to mean that whatever you have been working towards for what might seem to you an eternity is now well within your grasp. The Nine of Cups itself is consequently often called the "wish card".  Whatever you feel a real appetite for, will very likely soon come to pass. Relationships will be both more loving and complete, and your creativity will be at an all time high.

You may soon find yourself feeling much like the portly innkeeper shown on the face of this card as part of the original Rider Waite pack - very pleased and comfortable with himself and his varied achievements. So please fill your wine chalices and propose a toast to the generosity and success of your host, and enjoy each other's company and friendship, knowing that you are in very good hands. I see this card effectively as being a symbolic pat on the back for what significant progress you have made this far, in order to encourage you to keep going, even when others may tell you that this thing you are attempting is impossible. As you have done so many times before in the past, you see your role as proving them wrong yet again. While you should always try to do your best, do not overdo things or whatever you are currently setting out to build could all too easily tumble down around your ears like a house of cards.

Be kinder to yourself,
