Varma ji,
Namashkar.
If I understood your question correctly, planetary positions at the time of birth in the words of the great psychologist, philosopher and mystic, Carl G. Jung were described in general as: That which is born/produced in the moment has the imprint of the moment on it.
When we change jobs, using another analogy, we receive from the earlier job (phase) many things. Always learning, sometimes money, certificates and reference letters, etc. Then we find another job and the acquisitions from the last job can be utilized fully or partially or at times hardly at all. We may even have to start at a lower position than before or with less salary, harder conditions etc etc. Often it is a mixture of good and bad.
Think of the moment of starting the job or a new relationship or business as a birth moment.
Extend the analogy to entire lifetime and the planetary positions at birth are like joining a new job, a new relationship, a new school or curriculum/course, a new beginning!
Astrology serves as a counsellor or a guide-book. The actual journey is not recorded in a minute to minute details but the path is and also the possible destination or destinations are.
Love and Light,
