Tower card

Post by successgoodhealth » Sat Jun 23, 2007 10:27 pm

You have built up a false or misleading image of yourself, and now it is all blowing up in your face...

Or...Your whole life image you have built up of yourself comes crashing down around you
and you now have to face the truth about yourself.

However, sometimes, when I see this card in a reading, I believe it indicates
that "all hell breaks loose," as in the above post by "cuddles45"
- in regards to the card immediately following the tower card.

The Tower card represents how you may suddenly become enlightened.  The Tower is the psychic intuition that often comes exploding through your chakras when they are not balanced.

I read this card as life being thrown into turmoil, crisis, disaster, circumstances beyond our control. Cards surrounding the tower can suggest a lessened effect as well as telling the querent that this is about to happen.
Note the 22 'yods' or fingers of god that are floating down in the card.
This card represents transformation of self no matter how discomforting or unsettling it is. Or a cleansing from the inside out.

My interpritation is that of structural loss as in your security, safety and financial stability. With the understanding that although you may face a calamity, it may also mean an opportunity to improve or build something new on the old foundations, the old falling away!!
Do as you want, Harm none!

I see it as "the top being blown off of things" (hence the removal of the cap of the tower by the bolt of lightning).  Some sort of devine intervention or hand beyond our control as indicated by the lightning is causing some significant or sudden change clearing the path to start anew

Someone's doing a lot of re-evaluating, a reality check or at other end of spectrum a rude awakening. There beleifs are having to be changed, cos of thte circumstances they are finding themselves in and their strength of character is being put to the test.

A clean break with the past, a person, or circumstance. Possible financial or personal loss
