Careers for Cancers...
Well, I have found that I do best in situations where I am either free to be creative, on my own time and in my own way or where I feel that I am helping someone.
We are a creative, nuturing, intuitive bunch...if you could come up with a career that would incorporate all three of these attributes...I think most any cancerian would be quite successful

cancer occupations
My twin sister is working with the elderly as a receptionist and I work with the mentally ill as a social worker.
Yes I want to hide in my shell on my days off. Sometimes I can't handle hearing anymore about people's misfortune's
It is draining but also it is so fulfilling sometimes !!
I am going to be going to nursing school to study pysch nursing.

Well, like all of you, I too am in a position of caring...although at a different level. I work in the dental field and have shifted to the administrative end of things (not front desk..lol). I also have been for the past year caring for my husband who has many complications from a very invasive back surgery. I enjoy working with the public and seem to be the one who everyone turns to for advice and a soft place to land in time of crisis...gheez, maybe I should have chosen councelling as my profession...lol
Death is not the opposite of life. Life has no opposite. The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal...eckhart tolle
I agree that other areas of a persons chart are surely involved with what careers are best for them, though their sun sign is usually the deciding factor.
I, being a Cancerian myself, am a very nurturing individual. Being deeply empathic, I *cannot* work within the counceling fields. Also, being fairly intolerant of most of society, I am not exactly a prime canidate for work in the public eye.
I've held several jobs and seached internally for my honest feelings on a few different careers... and have come to the conclusion that there is no "perfect job" for me, not even close... other than the one I have now.
I am currently a homeschooling mom and *love* it!

You shouldn't and can't decide a career or vocation without seeing the natal chart, because there are SO many factors to take into account
You should try posting your natal chart in the Western reading forum for proper evaluation --
Then what happens if your sun sign is conjunct a heavyweight planet from Saturn onwards, ie: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, that sun person automatically becomes and honorary Saturian, Uranian, Neptunian and Plutonian cos the contact with very strong. But you won’t know this without getting and seeing your natal chart free from www.astro.com
Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.
Researching rulers of houses will help you understand more where I joining the dots so to speak
