I hope I'm doing this correctly. I know a little bit about tarot readings, but would like to learn more and gain more confidence.  I have a RW deck and have looked the cards over, however I have the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue. (I've actually given about 4 face to face readings and they were dead on) Most of the teaching material seems to be for the RW deck. Would going over the 'class material' assist me with my cards?

Most tarot decks are based on the Rider Waite symbolism although the pictorial depictions may vary, but the general idea is quite similar, if not the same. If you are going to work with a deck other than the RW, then I suggest that you have an open mind and also be guided by the graphics of your own deck whilst basing your knowledge (and I dont use the word interpretation here) on the RW.

By all means, read through the material in this forum and get out of it what you can.
I regret the 'tarot lessons' are not proceeding as originally envisaged, but there is plenty of material in here for you to read.

Hi  my name is lynn, I have my own rider waite tarot deck, but just let it sit around. Now I want to get involved and learn all I can about the tarot.  This is a great place to learn I have noticed.  I have casually looked over the topics and forum and there is so much to learn,  My kind of place.  Well today is July 31,2011 and this will be my first day learning the tarot here.

Is this class still open for enrollment?  I have been away from tarot for some years, and have enjoyed reading the posts from the other class.  I've never looked at the history of tarot before, and found the first essay very interesting.

Hi.I was reading Crowley as a teenager, i loved his philosophy, even found initiation to O.T.O.,but at that time, i wasn't paying much attention to tarot. Now, i start practicing it, and I litteraly need basics. every point to direction, good free ebook, or wherever i can really can learn it would help me a lot.Thanx in advance.lillith
