There are a few of us

THERE ARE A FEW OF US       By Zephyr
The wind rustles through the trees,
The grass dances merrily,
Seeds fly and propagate,
And Mother Earth smiles happily.

Rain fall from the watery clouds,
The plants all drink thirstily,
Mother Earth smiles and sighs,
“This is how it’s supposed to be.”

Not long after that, the world has changed,
Trees are dying like flies,
Plants are poisoned by the very air,
And Mother Earth sighs and cries.

She looks upon humankind,
And sadness fills her face,
“I gave you my all, my everything,
And look what you’ve done to this place.”

Her glance falls upon a select crowd,
And her expression softens again,
“At least I know there are a few,
Who cherish my gifts, I fain.”

For there are those who are still in tune,
With Mother Earths gentle grace,
Who respect and worship her,
And are trying to right this disgrace.

We dance the dance, sing the song,
Follow the wheel of the year,
We cherish each and everything,
We hold Mother Earths spirit dear.

We care for all the living things,
Beasts big or small,
Flying, crawling, swimming, walking,
We respect them one and all.

Growing from the ground as well,
Tall trees to smallest weed,
Rocks, stones, grains of sand,
All parts of nature we heed.

We are Witches, We are Wiccan,
We are Pagan all,
We listen to Mother Earth,
We heed her Gentle call.
