LIFE                     By Sharon Parkinson

Life is like an egg, small and fragile,
It is yours, but can be broken by a cruel someone,

Anyone can take your egg of happiness
And crush it in his cold, hard hands

He can break you
Destroy you
Never to be whole again

Shattered shell, quivering innards
Destruction complete

Left there to be trodden on
Ground into the mud

Left to whither and dry up
Forgotten
Gone

And nobody cares
